ArP - Alessia Petrolito
Arp - Alessia Petrolito
Born in the USA, adopted and raised in Northern Italy. She gained her BFA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, Italy. She lived in Chicago, where she obtained her MA in Visual and Critical Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2016. She presented her artist research at the 5th ICAR - International Conference on Adoption Research in New Zealand. She currently lives in Italy where she is working for a no-profit organization while writing on her Italian blog (arpadoptic.com), about adoption and other visual metaphors, and taking the Northwestern University | Social Media Marketing Specialization on Coursera.

On Pxhere ( https://bit.ly/2YEjCzN ) Adoptees, how many of you, us, use social media? And how many of us are on Facebook?! Soooo many! Thanks to the   Social Media Marketing Specialization Course  offered by  Northwestern University  through  Coursera ,  I was able to learn more about social media, how they function, how they can be used, etc.  Throughout the MOOC(s) of course, Professor Randy Hlavac taught us that Virtual communities are generated by either passion or trigger event, and  can be found at the bottom of a social media pyramid (see picture).  Passion communities  are looking for new trends and gossip. They like to talk to their peers and express their opinion. Angela Tucker's Adoptee Manifesto comes to Italy - Il manifesto di un*adottiv*

When  we shared this awesome   post ,  it was November.  At last, the time has come:  The Italian Manifesto for all Italian Adoptees is here! In 2020 Angela Tucker , the leading Adoptee Voice in the USA launched her Adoptee Manifesto .   During the year I've reached out and asked for her collaboration to realize the first AdoptCloud Project: a translated version of the #adopteemanifesto in Italian . Il manifesto di un* adottiv* Ph. credit: Angela Tucker, Design: Alissa Edel (Translation in Italian by Alessia Petrolito) Open and agender, the manifests reunite adoptee's legitimate rights and desires at once. Beyond grouping, this is about building inner peace and a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves. As adoptees, we can gain a voice and a community.
